Farm Notes

Krampus Chaos begins its mischief in the Kintamani Highlands of Central Bali, where small family farms grow coffee in the volcanic loam of Mount Agung. Cultivated alongside citrus trees, the beans carry a natural brightness that balances the roast’s darker tones.

Organized under the traditional Subak Abian system—a thousand-year-old cooperative rooted in the Balinese philosophy of Tri Hita Karana (“the harmony between the divine, humanity, and nature”)—these farmers rely on ecologically sustainable irrigation and organic cultivation, using no pesticides or synthetic fertilizers.

The coffee, known locally as Bali Blue Moon, is hand-picked, wet-hulled, and sun-dried in two stages, a process that gives the beans their distinct bluish tint and a cup profile of baker’s chocolate, orange peel, juniper, and molasses.

It’s a coffee born of ritual, myth, and mountain fire—proof that even chaos can be beautifully crafted.
